Luu Quang Minh (Vietnam)

Luu Quang Minh, "Honoured Artist of Vietnam", è uno dei più conosciuti didatti del suo paese. Professore di fisarmonica e jazz, egli nacque nel 1950 in una famiglia di musicisti e venne iniziato alla musica dal famoso fisarmonicista Nguyen Dinh Thanh.
Dopo il diploma alla Hai Phong Music School, Minh ha tenuto concerti in tutto il Vietnam e nel Sud Est asiatico, ottenendo unanimi consensi di pubblico e critica.
Ottenuto il master sotto la guida di Xuan Tu, ha cominciato ad insegnare alla Vietnam National Academy of Music. Nel contempo, ha ottenuto premi nei più importanti concorsi fisarmonicistici del mondo, da Klingenthal alla Couple Mondiale (CIA) in Polonia.
Perfezionatosi a Weimar con Imgard Slota Krieg, è stato insignito del titolo di "Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Fine Art" dalla Vietnam National Academy of Music nel 2003 e del titolo di professore nel 2007.
Minh’s ha inciso per la Radio e la TV vietnamita.
I suoi studenti sono stati premiati in numerosi concorsi internazionali, tra cui Hong Kong, Beijing, Klingenthal; ub Slovacchia, Italia, Svizzera etc.
E' spesso invitato a far parte delle giurie dei più noti concorsi di fisarmonica, da Beijing a Shanghai, da Castelfidardo a Vilnius.
Luu Quang Minh ha ricevuto importanti premi alla carriera dalla Confederation Internationale des Accordeonistes (CIA) e dall'International Music Council dell'UNESCO.

Prof. Dr. Honoured Artist Luu Quang Minh is a welknown artist and a prestigious trainer in Jazz music as well as accordion performing and teaching in Viet Nam. He was born in 1950 into a family of music tradition in the northern port city of Hai Phong, where he started his accordion career at the age of five with famous accordionist Nguyen Dinh Thanh.
After graduating from the Hai Phong Music School, Minh regularly took part in the music life of his native city. Thanks to impressive successes in performing activities, he was invited to work as a soloist since 1969 by professional ensembles such as the Culture and Art Ensemble of the Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Army, the Truong Son Culture and Art Ensemble, the Culture and Art Ensemble of the Second Military Zone.
He joined hundreds of concerts in both small and large theatres in cities and provinces across Viet Nam and Southeast Asia during 1969-1975. His art performing quality was appreciated by the mass media and colleagues.
After accomplishing the undergraduate education under the guidance of Prof Xuan Tu, he worked as an accordion lecturer and instructor at the Vietnam Music Academy in 1978. He then participated in competitions and was awarded the Diplom at Klingenthal-Germany and Couple Mondiale (CIA) in Poland.
He was in 1985 sent to a post-graduate training programme at the F. Liszt Weima Conservatory in Germany to improve his performing and teaching skills with Prof Imgard Slota Krieg and then returned to the Viet Nam Music Academy.
He received the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Fine Art at the Viet Nam National Academy of Music in 2003 and the title of Professor in 2007.
Minh’s performance, both solo and ensemble, has been repeatedly recorded by the Viet Nam Radio and TV. His students have won various prizes at accordion competitions held in Viet Nam and overseas, including Hong Kong, Beijing, Klingenthal, Slovakia, Italy, Switzerland, and so on. He was also invited to be jury member of international accordion contests organized in Beijing, Shanghai, Slovakia, Castelfidardo, Lithuania, and others.
Prof. Dr. Honoured Artist Luu Quang Minh has received the title CIA Merit Award given by the Confederation Internationale des Accordeonistes (CIA) - Member of the International Music Council( (IMC- UNESCO) in 2009 for his contributions to the accordion art.
